This is the valley of Chiusa Pesio and Certosa di Pesio, an ancient monastic complex dating back to the XII century that today belongs to the Consolata Missionaries. Its culminates with the peak of Marguareis (2651 m). Bordering to the west with the Colla and Vermenagna valleys and the east with the Maudagna valley, it is part of the Marguareis Natural Park populated with chamois, roe deer, deer, eagles and – more recently – even packs of wolves. The flora is very varied and includes one of the largest varieties of plant species found in Italy. There are three refuges in the area: Pian delle Gorre (1032 m), Piero Garelli (1970 m) and the Morgantini speleological hut (2237 m) located in the Karst territory of Càrsene.
