Set in the large catchment basin of Demonte’s Stura river, Valle Stura borders Valle Maira and Valle Grana to the north, Valle Gesso to the south and the French Val Tinée to the west. It encompasses two summits of over 3000 m, the Corborant (3010 m) and the Tenibres (3030 m), and roughly seventy beautiful alpine lakes. Hundreds of exciting hikes and treks await you its vast territory! The highest summits are crowded with Alpine wildlife such as ibexes, chamoises, mouflons, roe-deer and, lower down, deer. In the valley is also nestled the Sant’Anna sanctuary, the highest in Europe (2010 m), surrounded by amazing lakes that can be seen while hiking on Sant’Anna’s trail of the lakes.
