This valley starts from Roccaforte di Mondovì and terminates to the south with the Karst territory of Cima delle Saline (2672 m) and Mount Mongioie (2630 m). It borders on the Pesio valley to the west and the Maudagna and Corsaglia valleys to the east. The mainly Karst landscape is extremely varied and popular with groups of speleologists for its clints and grykes, lapies, caves and sinkholes. The Mondovì refuge (Havis de Giorgio) at the end of the long Pian Marchisio at 1761 metres above sea level is a fundamental stop-off for hikers during treks around the Mongioie (2630 m) and Marguareis (2651 m) peaks.
